The Good Lord Bird is an American fictional drama series. This historical drama is based on the 2013 book ‘The Good Lord Bird’ by James McBride. It is based on the real-life of John Brown, the one who lies a mouldering in his grave. It won the National Book Award in the USA.

This novel is being turned into a series which is written by Mark Richard and Ethan Hawke. It was all set to release The Good Lord Book on February 16, 2020 but sadly had been pushed further due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Showtime will premiere the eighth episode on November 22, 2020.

The Good Lord Book will consist of 8 episodes, and it is set to premiere October 4, 2020 on Showtime.

This fictional drama is all about the activities of Browns which illustrate with a different perspective. The Executive producers are Jason Blum and Albert Hughes. Richmond, Virginia was the location of production. Blumhouse Television is the production company.

The Good Lord Bird is an absorbing blend of history and imagination because a young slave known as Henry, who is living in a battleground between anti- and pro-slavery forces after the legendary adversary makes an appearance in the area.

Henry is forced to leave the town with Brown. Henry found himself in the famous 1859 Army depot raid at Harpers Ferry, which is an inciting incident of the Civil War after becoming a member of Brown’s motley family. As a result, this drama is both amusing and substantial tale of Antebellum America and tells about the American society’s roles of race, religion and gender. The Good Lord Book inspect themes of slavery, loyalty, violent protest and racism.
