We’ve got some exciting news for Disney fans! News surrounding the following Captain America has been making the rounds and that we couldn’t be more excited. In line with reports, Anthony Mackie who plays Sam Wilson (aka The Falcon) within the Marvel Cinematic Universe will apparently be sporting the red, white and blue of Captain America within the upcoming The Falcon and therefore the Winter Soldier show for Disney+
Apparently, news about the role began surfacing after Mackie’s make-up artist confirmed the news on Instagram. Saying in an exceedingly post, “We’re getting a black Captain America this year, so let’s not cancel 2020 just yet.”
If you’ve been following together with the Marvel Cinematic Universe then you recognize that the end of Avengers: Endgame saw Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers hand the shield over to Mackie’s Sam Wilson.
Also, if you remember back to Marvel’s teaser trailer during the Super Bowl then you recognize that the clip (which we’ll show you below) incorporates scene where Sam Wilson is throwing Captain American’s shield. What remains unclear is whether or not he’ll be using the shield because the new Captain America or because The Falcon.
Moreover, Anthony Mackie from a recent appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon where Mackie also stated he’s Captain America while explaining and joking around how the show isn’t canceled.
“I’m happy to mention we don’t seem to be canceled, we are on hold. So we’re going back, hopefully sometime soon to complete it up. we’ve got little or no staff to try and do, but I’m very proud of it. we’ve got a touch bit more to travel back and do, but everybody rest assured, it’ll initiate. We aren’t canceled,” Mackie told Fallon. “Because you recognize, during this business, people are like, ‘Take a touch break, we’ll come to that,’ meaning they’re never returning to that [laughs]. I’m like, ‘Man, I used to be Captain America for all of the period, this sucks! How did I buy fired on my day off?”
